Mark Angelo of the British Columbia Institute of Technology began the BC Rivers day over 30 years ago. It has since become a recognized UN event that is celebrated by millions of people each year. A site was need to promote the event, share experiences from communities around the world and provide resources, updates and profile events
The site was created as a shell that could load diverse content and designed to deal with images, documents, links and updates. The site contains a great deal of information and due to the shell structure, the site is quick to load and easy to navigate. A mobile version was created at a later date to ensure that the site was mobile and tablet friendly.
